Frequently Asked Questions
The VALD Assessment is a science-based testing session using cutting-edge equipment to measure your strength, mobility, balance, and control. It identifies asymmetries present and gives you normative data for what you should be aiming for. It’s used by elite sports teams and high-end clinical facilities, but adapted here for everyday people who want to move better, feel stronger, and avoid setbacks.
Not at all. We work with a wide range of clients—early retirees, busy professionals, people with injuries or chronic conditions, and recreational athletes. If you care about improving or maintaining your physical health, this assessment is for you.
You’ll get a clear breakdown of your results (e.g. left vs right strength imbalances, joint mobility scores, etc.), app access to view your results, and tailored recommendations for your next steps. It gives you clarity and direction, whether you train with us or take the insights elsewhere.
No. The assessment is safe and adaptable for all fitness levels and health backgrounds. We can work around pain, stiffness, or past injuries—and it can even help identify the cause of those issues. You’ll always be guided through each step.
Unlike a basic movement screen or general gym assessment, VALD testing gives precise, objective data using validated clinical-grade equipment. It helps us identify underlying issues that may not be visible to the naked eye—like strength asymmetries or joint imbalances—so we can create a more targeted and effective plan.
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who specialises in exercise for rehabilitation, chronic disease management, pain reduction, and performance. We use evidence-based movement strategies to improve your strength, mobility, and quality of life.

Absolutely. We work with people managing diabetes, arthritis, back pain, heart conditions, osteoporosis, post-surgery rehab, and more. Every program is tailored to your health status, needs, and comfort level.
We focus on long-term solutions and give you the tools to self-manage. Our approach is collaborative, science-based, and individualised — no gimmicks, no fluff. We help you understand your body and take control of your movement again.
We begin with a detailed discussion of your health history, goals, and concerns, because nobody knows you better than you do. We want to ensure we completely understand what it is you're struggling with, and what you hope to achieve. This is followed by a physical assessment using VALD technology to objectively measure strength, mobility, and balance. From there, we create a tailored plan based on your needs and goals to get you from where you're currently at, to where you want to be.
A VALD Assessment uses world-class technology to measure your movement in real-time. We capture detailed data about your strength, mobility, and imbalances — helping you train smarter, reduce injury risk, and see your progress clearly.
Yes. We offer online check-ins, programs via app (TrainHeroic), and hybrid models if you travel or need flexibility. Many clients continue progressing with our guidance even while away.
It depends on your goals, condition, and schedule. Some clients see us 1–3 times per week, while others check in monthly. We’ll recommend a plan that fits your life and gets you results — and we offer app-based support in between.
Our programs are built on genuine care, clinical expertise, and a personalised approach. We combine data-driven assessment tools with real-world adaptability — meaning your program evolves with your goals, lifestyle, and body.
We specialise in helping health-conscious professionals, active retirees, and recreational athletes move better, feel stronger, and train with purpose.
We’re not a one-size-fits-all service — and we’re okay with not being for everyone. If you value a thoughtful, evidence-based, and human approach to your health and training, we’ll likely be a great fit.
